Start the first day of your Taj Mahal tour with Fatehpur Sikri from your location in Delhi-NCR, the IGI Airport, or Gurgaon. After a three-hour journey, reach Agra and check-in to your hotel before freshening up. Thereafter, head out to explore the majestic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this stunning monument is regarded as one of the most powerful symbols of love in the world. Explore the mausoleum interiors and marvel at its intricate architecture and white marble along with strolling through the beautiful gardens.
You can then move to the nearby Mehtab Bagh, which also offers stunning views of the Taj Mahal. Stroll through the lovely garden with its pools, walkways, fountains, trees, and pavilions to your heart’s content before travelling to the regal Agra Fort. Built by Emperor Akbar over 97 acres, the complex contains several attractions including the Moti Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Khas Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, and the Musamman Burj where Emperor Shah Jahan was held as a prisoner (with its balcony facing the Taj Mahal).
After lunch, travel to the Itimad-Ud-Daula tomb just before sunset and capture the mausoleum (nicknamed the Baby Taj) in its magnificence. You will love the pristine garden here along with the white marble architecture, carved walls, frescoes, and semi-precious stones lining the walls. Thereafter, have your fill of shopping for souvenirs at the local markets before returning to your hotel and calling it a day.
